Private Bookings
The most immersive and bespoke way to experience Hepple. Choose a date that works for you and let us know exactly what interests you. We’ll endeavour to bring as many of your interests into the day and make it really special. Let us know if the day is a special occasion and we’ll help you celebrate.
We love to make our private days fit around whatever most interests you and your group. Whether you want a leg-stretching hike through the moorland, spotting peregrine and raven and sipping on sloe-gin, or a tour through the Juniper with a gin at the end, we are here to accommodate your wishes. Dogs are not typically allowed unless under special circumstances.
Aside from our public tours, much of the estate is not open to visitors as we carry out important work for our rewilding programme. Booking a private experience lets you access the estate with an incredibly knowledgeable guide who will aim to make the day your own.
To maintain the exclusive nature of the site, tour availability is limited. Get in touch with Richard (richard@hepplewilds.com) to check availability and book.
Your Guide to the Wild
Hello! At the heart of many of our private experience is our in-house Ecologist & Guide, Richard — a familiar face in these hills, having grown up in the surrounding landscape. His deep-rooted connection to the area brings an added layer of insight, from local history to the subtle changes in the land that only years of close observation reveal.
Richard combines this local knowledge with a strong academic background in conservation, alongside years of hands-on experience leading birdwatching tours and exploring everything from botany to fungi. A qualified Hill and Moorland Leader with outdoor first aid training, he brings both expertise and reassurance — but it’s his easy manner, curiosity, and genuine enthusiasm for the natural world that make time spent with him so memorable. Whether you’re hoping to spot wildlife, learn more about rewilding, or simply enjoy being out in the landscape, Richard shapes each experience around you.
